A symbol of commemoration
My badge this week: A symbol of commemoration.
We pause to remember and pay tribute to all who have served, acknowledging their sacrifices as well as those of their families.
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.

We are going crazy over apples, as one of our neighbors is giving some away. Although we’ll be making applejack, it won’t be like Franklin D. Roosevelt, who included applejack in his Manhattans. Instead, it shall remain as original as the famous cocktail was in the Manhattan Club, originally crafted in honor of Jennie Spencer-Churchill, the mother of British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill. This endeavor will culminate in an ‘Endless Apple Festival,’ honoring the Tatin sisters, who invented Tarte Tatin and made it the signature dish of their hotel.
