Just as JFK did, Fred Perry once met Jack Kennedy. He walked across to shake the great man’s hand and congratulated him on his good taste in clothes, as he was also wearing a Fred Perry shirt. JFK responded by asking Fred if he could be allowed the honor of using the three initials. Fred agreed and only ever agreed once more, with the initials BJM: for Billie Jean Moffitt, the greatest female tennis player of all time.
